LCF Pays it Forward with Special Grants
In Early April, the Lincoln Community Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the California Foundation for Strong Communities to support citizens of Lincoln during these challenging times. Within the week, we met and approved $5,000 grants to the Salt Mine, Lighthouse, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society to support their efforts to provide food, rent assistance, and other critical needs in our community. In addition, a $4,200 grant was given to the City of Lincoln to purchase face masks.
One week later, LCF granted a total of $50,000 to the Salt Mine and to Lighthouse ($25,000 each) specifically for their continued COVID-19 relief. LCF also designated the remaining $5,800 of the Strong Communities grant to Granite Wellness Centers in Lincoln. We couldn’t be more proud of the good works these nonprofits accomplish in our community.
Our President Kris Knutson was interviewed on Lincoln Live TV (Facebook) on April 21st. He discussed the Big Day of Giving, happening on May 7th and the need to support all of our Lincoln nonprofits.
